EMU Hosting Health Professionals

Organised jointly by Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus Geriatrics Foundation, and Turkish Diabetics Foundation, ‘International Cardiometabolic Syndrome Eastern Mediterranean Congress and Eastern Mediterranean Health Sciences Student Symposium’ commenced under the auspices  of the TRNC President Dr. Derviş Eroğlu on 5 November 2014.

Participating health professionals exchanged information on the cardiometabolic syndrome and stated that the congress and the symposium facilitated information exchange in the aforesaid field. 


Prof. Dr. Mine Gülden POLAT

I am the dean of Marmara University Health Sciences Faculty and the chair of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program. The congress has been a success with the number of participants, infrastructure and environment. I also believe that having 3 concurrent sessions at once has been very practical. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the event. 


Prof. Dr. Gökhan MALKOÇ

I am the chair of Turkish Psychchological Association and dean of  İstanbul Trade University Arts and Sciences Faculty. The congress has brought professionals from different professions and fields. I believe the congress which adopted a transdisciplinary approach has been professionally organised. I hope similar events are organised in the near future.


Prof. Dr. Sibel Aksu YILDIRIM

I am the dean of Hacettepe University Health Sciences Faculty. I believe that the congress has been a success from different perspectives. The participants are all professionals in their chosen fields. Having international speakers also help the formation of multiperspective in the topics presented.


Dr. Arif ALBAYRAK

I can see that great effort has been put for the congress and symposium to take place. A considerable number of health professionals shared the same platform facilitating information exchange. Both the government and EMU Rector’s Office have great responsibility in the continuation of events as such. The congress has proven that science is in good hands.


Ali YÖRÜMEZ

I am a graduate of Erciyes University Dietetics Department. We are attending the symposium as the young dietitians group which I am currently chairing. I can say that this is one of the best organisations I have attended so far. I am happy to be part of the event and would like to extend my gratitude to all those who have contributed. 


İlkay USLU

I am a fourth year student at Ankara University Nutrition and Dietetics Department. This is my first time in the TRNC and I am extremely happy with the congress and the symposium.


Pınar GÖKENSEL

I am a postgraduate student at EMU Nutrition and Dietetics Department. It is nice to have a symposium of this kind in the TRNC. Previously, we had to go abroad to take part in congresses as such. I thank all those who have contributed to the event.
