EMU Hosted Important International Guests

Within the framework of the “Lebanese Night” organised by Eastern Mediterranean University Lebanese Student Association, Lebanese Deputy Prof. Dr. Khaled Zahranman paid a courtesy visit to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam.

During the visit at which Vice Rector for Promotion Prof Dr. Hasan Amca was also present, academic collaboration issues were discussed. Prof. Dr. Osam provided information on EMU and TRNC’s education system and stated that with a history of 36 years, Eastern Mediterranean University is the most prominent university on the island of Cyprus. Highlighting the progressive development of the university, Prof. Dr. Osam also gave information on the student and faculty profile, campus and infrastructural facilities as well as faculties and departments. Stating the importance the university gives to international recognition and accreditation, Prof. Dr. Osam added that a considerable number of departments and programs hold prestigious international accreditations and the university’s fundamental aim is to gain international accreditation for all departments.

Thanking Prof. Dr. Osam for his hospitality and expressing his pleasure in visiting the TRNC and EMU, Prof. Dr. Khaled Zahranman shared information regarding their education system. During his visit, Prof. Dr. Zahranman, who also had a chance to explore EMU Campus, faculty and schools and to talk to directors and department chairs in person, stated that EMU has a well-developed infrastructure and education system.

At the end of the visit, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam presented a lefkara lace handicraft to Prof. Dr. Zahranman to mark his visit to EMU.
