Eastern Mediterranean University is hosting a crowded group of visitors including Samsun News Media Group Culture and Arts Coordinator Şakir Demirci, teachers, students and Samsun District National Education Directorate representatives. The host group is visiting EMU within the framework of a competition entitled “19 May High Schools Contest”, which has taken place under the sponsorship of EMU for the past three years.
Winners of this year’s contest which took place with the participation of 159 high schools, their teachers, journalists and representatives of Samsun District National Education Directorate will be hosted by EMU for a period of one week. The visiting group will have the opportunity to explore EMU in detail as well as the cultural values of the TRNC.
The host group paid a visit of courtesy to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam on 2 July. Stating that the aforesaid contest has contributed to the establishment of tight bonds between Samsun and Famagusta, Şakir Demirci thanked EMU for their sponsorship of four contests. Putting forth that EMU is the largest university of the TRNC, Demirci extended an invitation to EMU officials to visit Samsun. Rector of EMU Prof. Dr. Osam stated that the university gives special importance to publications and accreditations, all of which are factors reflecting the university’s quality. Prof. Dr. Osam added that whilst making career choices, students should consider their own skills and ambitions.
