Organised by Eastern Mediterranean University Social and Cultural Activities Directorate in collaboration with Unicorn LGBTQ Club with the aim of marking “20 November Transgender Day of Remembrance of Those Who Became Subjects of Hate Crimes”, a solo performance by Berk İnan entitled “I am Not One of Those Men You Know” took place at EMU Activity Hall on 17 November 2015.
Berk İnan started the event by talking about double gender system and followed by talking how his own personality was shaped. İnan, then, shared his memories during the process of facing his family, close friends and the community. Also talking about sex change operations, hormonal treatment, and legal process, İnan also added that his own blog "www.transsicko.blogspot.com" contains detailed information about the subject. At the end of the talk, İnan answered questions coming from the audience.
The event which received the intensive interest of students and academic staff members proved to be a beneficial source of information in giving examples of the difficulties people with sex change encounter as well as community pressure and experiences. At the end of the event, Berk İnan was presented a plaque by club members.
