Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Engineering, Industrial Engineering Department’s IE-CLUB hosted Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jihangir Yadollahi Farsi, faculty member and Deputy for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies at the University of Tehran. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farsi delivered a seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Universities”. The seminar attracted a crowded group of attendees both from EMU Industrial Engineering Department and other departments. EMU Industrial Engineering Department chair Assist. Prof. Dr. Gökhan İzbırak stated that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farsi authored 9 books and over 90 presentations on “Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Innovation”.
In his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farsi provided information on why and how universities should focus on the issue of entrepreneurship to maintain their existence. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farsi also gave information on the possible difficulties that may be encountered during this strategic change and how they can be overcome. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jihangir Yadollahi Farsi concluded his presentation by saying “You may not foresee the future but you can create it”.
