EMU Hosted 10th Psychology Days

Organised annually by Eastern Mediterranean University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Psychology Department, in collaboration with EMU Psychology Students Club, this year’s Psychology Days took place between 10 and 11 May 2016.

10th Psychology Days adopted “Diversity in Psychology” as its theme to highlight the increasing number of approaches and applications in psychology as well as the scientific wealth brought by this diversity.

The event commenced with the opening addresses of Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hıfsiye Pulhan and Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Rza Bashirov and continued with presentations, film screenings,  theatre performances, and psychology quizzes. To mark 10 May Psychologists Day, the first day of the program also hosted a walk taking place in Famagusta with the slogan “Today is My Day”. Participated by the students, academicians, and Eastern Mediterranean University Psychological Counseling, Guidance and Research Center,  the walk also addressed the absence of a profession act for psychologists in Northern Cyprus.

10th Psychology Days also hosted students from different universities of Turkey visiting EMU within the framework of exchange programs as well as students from various universities of the TRNC, presenters, psychologists, graduates and persons who have special interest towards psychology.
