EMU Honoured Its Retiring Personnel

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector’s Office held a plaque ceremony to honor the retiring academic, administrative and working personnel for their services during their time in EMU. The ceremony took place in EMU Rector’s Office Senate Meeting Hall on Friday, the 2nd of October 2020, at 14:00. Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ministry of Education Undersecretary Aytunç Şirket, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniş İşçioğlu were present at the ceremony.

“I wish Success, Health and Happiness”

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın made the opening speech of the ceremony; “You have been a part of our university for many years providing service in different units as academic, administrative or working personnel. You have made significant contributions to our university with your devotion over the years. A new chapter is beginning in your lives. Without a doubt, you will continue to be a member of EMU family. You always have a place in EMU and we would be pleased to see you among us. We see that some of our personnel have been in EMU for 30 years. I would like to thank you for your services that contributed the university to come to these days. I wish you success, health and happiness in the new chapter of your lives”.

Prof. Dr. Hocanın touched on the work conducted during the pandemic period in terms of supporting students and preparing a good environment for the academic staff members. Prof. Dr. Hocanın stated that all the necessary preparation procedures for the new academic year are completed and, added that the number of students coming from Turkey to EMU via 2020 Higher Education Institutions Examination showed an increase compared to the previous year.

Following his speech, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın presented plaques to the retiring academic, administrative and working personnel.
