EMU Health Sciences Faculty's Ongoing Development

On its fourth year, Eastern Mediterranean University Health Sciences Faculty continues to develop in quality with outstanding achievements. With the current student population of around 2000, the faculty will further grow with over 1000 new registrations during the 2014-2015 Academic Year. EMU Health Sciences Faculty Dean and Health Sciences School Director Prof. Dr. Hülya Harutoğlu stated that the faculty lives the pride of bringing up the first graduates during the current year. Harutoğlu also put forth that the faculty’s consistent development is not a coincidence.

5 Undergraduate and 9 Associate Programs during the 2014-2015 Academic Year.

Stating that the faculty is starting the new academic year with 5 new undergraduate and 9 new associate programs, Prof. Dr. Harutoğlu also added that the faculty, classrooms and the laboratories have been increased in number in line with these developments.

Prof. Dr. Harutoğlu  stated that the overall interest in First and Emergency Aid, Anaesthesia, Physiotherapy, Medical Imaging Techniques, Dialysis, Oral and Dental Health and Geriatric Care associate programs and added that during the current year, Radiotherapy and Operating Theatre Services associate programs will also start admitting students.  Prof. Dr. Harutoğlu put forth that along with increasing the number of full-time faculty members, the faculty will receive academic support from eminent academicians from Hacettepe, Marmara, İstanbul, Ankara and Dokuz Eylül Universities. Prof. Dr. Harutoğlu  added that summer internship practices and clinical applications will take place at the aforesaid universities’ hospitals.

Postgraduate and Doctoral Degree Programs

Prof. Dr. Hülya Harutoğlu stated that Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Nutrition and Dietetics Departments continue to offer postgraduate study opportunities for students and added that during the current year, Nursing Department will start admitting students to the postgraduate program and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Nutrition and Dietetics Departments will offer doctoral degree study opportunities.
