Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Tourism 2005-2006 Academic Year Spring Semester graduate Gülhan Balta Kuzu continues to make a name for herself with the achievements she gained in the tourism world. Establishing the foundations of her professional career with the education she received at EMU Faculty of Tourism, Kuzu works at the Dedeman Tourism Group as an Executive Board Member in charge of Sales and Marketing.
Kuzu started her career at Dedeman Tourism Group in 2006 in the sales department. Over time, she held managerial positions in various sales segments and eventually became the Executive Board Member in charge of Sales and Marketing. During the pandemic, Kuzu played a significant role in the company’s success by implementing swift and effective strategies through the “Stay Safe” Manifest.
Underscoring the importance of increasing the number of female professionals in the field of tourism, Kuzu noted that the female employee ratio within the Dedeman Group is above the average in Türkiye. Moreover, Kuzu also believes that women can make a significant impact in the tourism industry due to their attention to detail and coordination skills.

Expressing her pride in being a member of the Dedeman family, Kuzu emphasized their ongoing efforts to bring innovative projects to the tourism sector by stating, “Every new goal is a new beginning for me”. She mentioned that the strong education she received at EMU Faculty of Tourism helped her blend theoretical knowledge with practical experience, laying a solid foundation for her career. Kuzu also noted that the vision and experience gained at EMU are aspects she carries with pride. Kuzu concluded by saying, “Being an EMU alumni has always brought me added confidence and strength in my professional life.”
