EMU Gastrodau Seminars Discuss the Edible Insects and Herbs of Cyprus

The Gastrodaü Club operating under the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Social and Cultural Activities Directorate, Student Clubs Unit organized a series of seminars for Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program students. The seminars held at the EMU Tourism Faculty brought the students with experts in the field whom trained the student on various topics.

Within the scope of the one-week long event, Ayşe Demir, Habib Demir and Buğçe Cesur respectively delivered presentations titled “Cypriot Cuisine and Escargot”, “Edible Insects” and “Mushrooms and Herbs of Cyprus”. Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program students showed great interest in the seminar series where they had the chance to ask questions on topics that they are curious about. 

EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç made a statement regarding the event and underlined the fact that bringing the students with experts in their fields is of vital importance in terms of promoting the Cypriot cuisine. Prof. Dr. Kılıç indicated that such events are to continue in the future.
