EMU Foreign Languages And English Preparatory School Introduces New Community Involvement Projects

Eastern Mediterranean University, Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School’s academic staff members Pembe Tuna and Fatma Demirtaş planted flowers at the yard of Famagusta Alasya Primary School with the participation of university students. A total of 70 flowers were planted during the implementation of the project which took 2 hours to finish. At the end of the organisation, participating university students took part in sports activities with the students of the said primary school.

In addition to the said project, another project entitled “Give a Book Give a Life” took place under the organisation of EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School academic staff member Mutlu Soykurt. Carried out by instructors Bahar Avşar and Vacide Köse and their students, the first phase of the said project has successfully been completed. As part of the project, students put donated books on sale in front of different points of attraction within Famagusta including Önder Supermarket, Gloria Jeans and Roberts Coffee. Funds raised after the book sales will be donated to the Cancer Aid Association.
