Eastern Mediterranean University Business and Economics Faculty, Economics Department is hosting a series of seminars organised by Economic Research Center under the chairmanship of EMU Department of Economics academic staff member Assist. Prof. Dr. Kemal Bağzıbağlı.
The first of the series of seminars hosted discussions on ‘Transition Report 2015-16 Rebalancing finance: diversifying funding for growth”. Chair of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) Cyprus office Libor Krkoska, Çağatay Bircan from EBRD London Office and EBRD Cyprus Branch Small and Medium Scale Businesses Finance and Development Group Analyst Bilgehan Kayalar participated in the seminar.
The seminar which commenced with the opening address of EMU Business and Economics Faculty, Economics Department academic staff member Assist. Prof. Dr. Kemal Bağzıbağlı continued with Libor Krkoska’s opening remarks and Çağatay Bircan’s presentation.
Participated by Business and Economics Faculty academic staff members, research assistants and master’s and PhD students, the seminar hosted discussions on global financial crisis which caused an important decrease in external imbalances and the role of private equity finances on the increase of investment and productivity rates of private equity firms.
At the end of the seminar, Assist. Prof. Dr. Kemal Bağzıbağlı thanked all participants and stated that the center will host further weekly seminars.
