EMU Communication Faculty Hosts Limasol Bank

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Communication Faculty, Department of Public Relations and Advertising organized a workshop for its students on iconic brand building processes.  

A “Processes of Iconic Brand Building” workshop was given to the students by Limasol Turkish Cooperative Bank Corporate Communications Director İpek G. Halim Taşkapılı. During the event, Taşkapılı also delivered a presentation titled “Limasol Turkish Cooperative Bank icon Lim and Lima”. Corporate Communication Directorate staff members Ceylan Çınarlılı and Adem Kavaz also attended the event.

Commencing the event by mentioning the importance of creativity in advertising and brand symbols, İpek Halim Taşkapılı talked in detail about how to design creative icons and the advantages of icon use with a presentation of examples from different brands. Delivered in two different sessions (Turkish and English), the presentation and workshop focused on detailed analysis on the creation processes of Cyprus’s most rooted bank Limasol Turkish Cooperative  Bank’s icons, Lim and Lima. Sharing her knowledge and experience with students on how to use brand icons, Taşkapılı attracted the interest of the students with her energy. At the end of the presentation, students caught the chance to strengthen the information they received and created their own icons during the workshop held after the presentation.

EMU Public Relations and Advertising Department head Prof. Dr. Anıl Kemal Kaya expressed their contentedness on hosting the Limasol Bank Corporate Communication Department at the Public Relations and Advertising Department and, stated that they hope to continue their collaborations in the future events. At the end of the event, Prof. Dr. Kaya and vice Chair Assist. Prof. Dr.  Umut Atman presented a plaque to Taşkapılı.
