EMU Chorus Days Finished With a Magnificent Concert

Eastern Mediterranean University Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Teaching Program organised “EMU Chorus Days” between 8 and 10 April 2015.

Having started on Wednesday, 8 April 2015,  EMU Chorus Days hosted Niğde Fine Arts High School Acapella Chorus and their chorus conductor Serdar Köşk. Having arrived in our country as a crowded group of students, Niğde Fine Arts High School Acapella Chorus took part in joint activities with Eastern Mediterranean University Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Teaching Program Chorus.

Eastern Mediterranean University, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Teaching Program Chorus and Niğde Fine Arts High School Acapella Chorus gave a concert at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center at 7:30 p.m. on 10 April 2015. The concert featured songs from world chorus literature as well as Turkish chorus literature and Cypriot Multivoice Folk Songs.

In her concert opening address, EMU Education Faculty Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Ülker Vancı Osam, expressed the university’s pleasure in hosting Niğde GSL Acapella Chorus and thanked them for their participation in joint activities. EMU Fine Arts Education Department Chair Assist. Prof. Dr. Başak Gorgoretti put forth that the joint performance of Niğde GSL Acapella Chorus and EMU Music Teaching Program Chorus has once again proven the cultural function of music. At the end of the event,  Assist. Prof. Dr. Dr. Gorgoretti presented a plaque of appreciation to Niğde Fine Arts High School Chorus conductor Serdar Köşk.
