EMU-CEC Visits Değirmenlik Municipality

Eastern Mediterranean University Continuing Education Center (EMU-CEC) Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Ersoy and the accompanying delegation visited the Mayor of Değirmenlik Ali Karavezirler in his office and provided information about the English courses completed recently. During the visit, certificates of appreciation were presented to two academic staff members of EMU, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Kale and Sen. Inst. Mustafa İpekçioğlu, who taught English courses organized by Değirmenlik Municipality and EMU-CEC.

Chair of EMU-CEC Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Ersoy, after thanking the Mayor of Değirmenlik Ali Karavezirler for the importance they attach to education as a municipality, stated that the municipalities pose a significant contribution to the lifelong education of the society both through in-service training and courses they offer to the public. Putting forth that the educational cooperation with the municipalities will continue, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersoy stated that they employ all facilities of the university in line with the educational vision of EMU-CEC. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersoy also thanked the Değirmenlik Municipality, Social Activity Center Supervisor Laika Çakır for all types of contributions in the organization of the aforesaid courses. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersoy noted that they will continue to offer training opportunities on different subjects in the upcoming days.

Mayor of Değirmenlik Ali Karavezirler, on the other hand, mentioned that they are a family as a municipality who attaches great importance to education and that they have furthered the vision of the municipality with the training they have received. Emphasizing that everyone receives equal and fair service from Değirmenlik Municipality, Karavezirler stated that the participants of the English courses given by EMU-CEC instructors at Değirmenlik Municipality Social Activity Center are quite satisfied with the education they received. Karavezirler added that their goal is to provide better quality services to the citizens by completing the in-service training of the municipality personnel and stated that they will continue their work in line with this vision.

Also present during the visit were EMU-CEC Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Aybike Yektaoğlu, academic staff members Assist. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Kale and Mustafa İpekçioğlu and EMU-CEC Executive Assistant Çiğdem Anatyulu.
