EMU-CEC ‘Ada Işığı’ Choir Gave a Concert in Ankara

Eastern Mediterranean University Continuing Education Center (EMU CEC) ‘Ada Işığı’ Children’s Choir gave a concert at Ankara Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall at 8:00 p.m. on 28 January 2015. During the concert, the choir performed “Vurgunum Sana Kıbrıs’ım” written by Ayşen Dağlı and composed by Faik Sudgeddinov and Cemal Özgürsel’s “Portakal  Atışalım” along with an array of Cypriot songs.

Invited by Sevda Cenap And Music Foundation, EMU Ada Işığı Children’s Choir performed with  SCA Music Foundation Jeunesses Musicalles Ankara Children’s Choir and SESVERSUS Vocal Group. The concert took place under the conductorship of EMU Education Faculty Fine Arts Education Department Music Teaching Program academic staff member and chorus conductor Erkan Dağlı..

Ambassador of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Ankara Fazıl Can Korkut delivered a speech prior to the concert and expressed his pleasure in hosting the children’s choir from the TRNC. At the end of the concert Ada Işığı Children’s Choir conductor Erkan Dağlı presented silver plates to the chair of Sevda Cenap And Music Foundation Mehmet Başman and the chorus conductor of the same foundation Fatma Bildiren on behalf of EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam. During the same event, Erkan Dağlı was presented a plaque by Sevda Cenap And Music Foundation.

EMU CEC Ada Işığı Children’s Choir also visited Anıtkabir, Ankara Ethnography Museum and Children’s Museum during their stay in Ankara.
