Approved by YÖK, the aforesaid program which has the aim of bringing up professionals in the field of architecture is a project-based program which has the duration of one year (spring, fall and summer terms) for full-time students and two years for part-time students. In the full-time program, within a period of 12 months, students are expected to complete a course-load of 36 credits and the term project which will be carried out during the summer term. The program first started to admit students during the 2010 Fall Semester.

Out of the 10 courses which appear in the program, nine is compulsory and one is elective. In the full-time program, the aforesaid courses as well as the project course are completed within two semesters. During the summer term, a project based on the previously taken project courses is prepared. The project topics assigned to the students within the framework of the program are parallel with the sectoral conditions and demands. In this respect, projects demanded by non-governmental organisations or projects specified within the framework of competitions taking place throughout the country may be carried out as term projects. Apart from ‘Design Courses’, students are offered courses on building and structure, architectural design theory, computer applications in architecture, construction economy, new building technologies for sustainability, environmental and social issues and legal and administrative aspects of architecture.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will possess in-depth information and experience in the relevant field. If they wish, students may take additional courses and pursue their higher education at doctoral degree level.
