In addition to the agreement signed on 1 July 2022, between Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and the EMU Academic Staff Union (DAU-SEN), a supplementary protocol was signed covering the installation of renewable energy systems and related arrangements at the DAU-SEN Local located in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The signing ceremony was recently held at the Rector’s Office, where the agreement was signed by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and Chair of DAU-SEN Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ercan Hoşkara.
Present during the signing session were; EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, Director of the EMU Institute for Advanced Technology Research and Development Assoc. Prof. Dr. Davut Solyalı and EMU Rector’s Office Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tolga Çelik.
Under this supplementary protocol, DAU-SEN will establish a renewable energy system integrated into the Electric Vehicle Development Building to fully meet the annual electricity consumption of the DAU-SEN Local located in EMU Department of Mechanical Engineering. It was also stated that, in addition to the installation, DAU-SEN will contribute to the production of a prototype electric vehicle charging unit at the EMU Electric Vehicle Development Center.
