Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) American Football Team ‘EMU Crows’ operating under the Sports Affairs Directorate, will start the 2019 league with a grand game to take place on February 16th 2019, Saturday (14:00) at EMU Stadium. During this game EMU Crows, to be supported by EMU students and the local residents of Famagusta, will face Koç University’s American Football Team ‘KOÇRAMS’. EMU Crows will compete in the American Football Ünilig (University League) (formed of 6 groups) 1st League, Group B. The Ünilig is included in the Turkey University Sports Federation University Leagues; held in 17 different branches. If EMU Crows can manage to secure a place in the top two, it will proceed to the quarter-finals.
Aiming for an Advantageous Beginning
The Group B competitions that started on February 2nd, 2019 included 5 teams. As of now, according to the results of two matches already played, Işık University defeated Bahçeşehir University by 23 – 20 and Koç University defeated Kocaeli University with a score of 35 – 10. EMU Crows is to play its first group match with Koç University’s ‘KOÇRAMS’ and aims to have an advantageous beginning by defeating them at EMU’s own field. EMU’s fixture is as follows:
