EMU Alumnus Mehmet Baha Continues to Inspire on a Global Level

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Business and Economics, Department of Business Administration’s 2004 graduate Mehmet Baha continues to gain recognition internationally for his work in education, leadership, and team performance.

Following graduating from EMU, Baha was awarded with a Fulbright Scholarship and sought a master’s degree on “International Peace and Conflict Resolution” at American University in Washington DC. Today, he provides training for institutions all around the world and delivers talks at conferences. Baha has been invited as a speaker in more than 28 countries across five continents and has worked with prominent organizations including Akbank, the European Parliament, Bayer, Mercedes, UPS, Google, Maersk, QNB Finansbank, Yapı Kredi, and CERN. He recently completed Harvard Business School’s online executive program in Organizational Leadership.

Expressing that the education he had received at EMU has formed the foundation of his international achievements, Baha said; “My teachers at EMU greatly expanded my perspective. B. N. Ghosh instilled in me the value of humility, Turhan Kaymak encouraged me to consider situations from multiple angles, and Hannes Lacher highlighted the importance of approaching work with passion. These lessons have been invaluable throughout my career.”

Baha, who has gained more than 24 years of professional experience across Germany, Türkiye, Ireland, Guatemala, and the USA, recently released his book “Creating Psychological Safety at Work – The Essential Guide to Boosting Team Performance”. The book, which emphasizes the significance of building trust within teams, has earned acclaim from renowned figures including New York Times bestselling author Daniel H. Pink and Harvard Business School professor Amy C. Edmondson.
