Eastern Mediterranean University, Communication and Media Studies Faculty, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agah Gümüş’s second book entitled “Methods of Persuasion and Influencing” has been published by Söylem İletişim Press.
Starting with the explanation of the concepts of human attitude and perception, the book provides information about different persuasion methods with a specific focus on the power and methods of persuasion in advertising. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gümüş also gives information about methods of persuasion for individuals and mass groups as well as for organisations or institutions. In his book, Assoc. Prof Dr. Gümüş highlights politics as an area where methods of persuasion are intensively used.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gümüş’s first book entitled “Communication in the Computer Environment” was published in 2004. His second book will be included in EMU Public Relations and Advertising Department’s Turkish-medium program as a coursebook as of the 2015-2016 Academic Year Fall Semester.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agah Gümüş also stated that he is working on his third and fourth books. Entitled “New Communication Technologies and Advertising”, his third book will be published in February 2016. Finally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agah Gümüş added that he is also working on a novel on the Cyprus issue and planning to publish it during the upcoming year.
