The 43rd meeting of the Turkish Republic and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Architecture Schools Department Chairs Communication Group (MOBBIG) is taking place at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) between the 29th of September 2016 and the 2nd of October 2016.
MOBBIG meetings first started taking place in 1996 and have been taking place at least twice a year ever since. The meetings started as a result of the increased requirement for communication regarding the management of departments and education programs. The meetings aim to establish an environment where institutions providing an architectural education can exchange dialogue. MOBBIG also follow and evaluate international architectural topics. All architecture departments in Turkey and TRNC are automatically MOBBIG members.
The topics that will be discussed during the 43rd MOBBIG meeting have been collected under the title “Quality in Architecture Education”. Chair of EMU Architecture Department Prof. Dr. Özgür Dinçyürek will also provide those attending the meeting with information about EMU’s International MIAK accreditation and international NAAB SE experience.
The 43rd MOBBIG meeting will begin at 9:30 on the 29th of September 2016 with a number of opening speeches and presentations including a presentation from the accreditation board MIAK. MOBBIG will continue with work-group presentations and panels titled “Self-evaluation and Accreditations, Innovativeness, Creativity and Individuality, Opportunities, Collaboration and Partnerships, Curriculum/ Non-Curriculum Activities and Education Tools/ Methods”.
