3rd International Career Opportunities Forum and Cyprus Turkish Products Fair in EMU

Organised by Eastern Mediterranean University Alumni Communications and Career Research Directorate in collaboration with faculty members and experts in EMU, 3rd International Career Opportunities Forum and Cyprus Turkish Products Fair commenced on Friday, 15 May 2015 at Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Center. Organised in association with Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry, the event hosted over 60 firms offering numerous internship and career opportunities for students..

During her opening address, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Pulhan stated that as an institution of higher education, Eastern Mediterranean University has achieved a lot since its establishment in 1986 by becoming a world university with an elite group of graduates consisting of over 42,000 members, as well as high quality study opportunities delivered through 11 faculties and 86 programs. Prof. Dr. Pulhan stated that the International Career Week will be finalised with “3rd International Career Opportunities Forum and Cyprus Turkish Products Fair”. Thanking the 56 speakers who shared their expertise with the students within the framework of the event, Prof. Dr. Pulhan expressed her appreciation towards all those who contributed to the event.  

In his address, Chair of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry Ali Çıralı expressed his happiness in taking part in an organisation as such. Çıralı added that through the organisation of the activity they aim to enhance the collaboration between the university and industry. 

TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Security Aziz Gürpınar also delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and stated that the organisation is one of the best examples of university’s collaboration with the sector. Putting forth that education is an important issue, Gürpınar added that recruitment after graduation is even more important. At the end of his speech, Gürpınar thanked all those who have contributed to the event.
