2018-2019 Academic Year Graduation Week

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) has completed the preparations for the 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Semester Graduation Week. During the Graduation Ceremonies, over 1000 graduands of associate and undergraduate programs, and more than 300 graduands of master’s and doctoral programs will receive their diplomas and step into the next stage of their lives. Consistently having an increasing number of graduates, EMU will soon boast an elite group of alumni consisting of 56 thousand graduates after the 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Semester Graduations.

For achieving a smooth flow of process during the Graduation Week, a rehearsal will be held on January 25th 2019, Friday (10:00 a.m.) at EMU Lâlâ Mustafa Paşa Sports Complex. Another rehearsal will also be held for graduate students on the same day at 14:00 at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center.

The Convocation Ceremony for Graduate Programs to Take Place on January 27th

The 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Term Graduation Ceremony for the graduands of the graduate programs will be held on January 27th 2019, Sunday (14:30) at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. Graduates’ families, EMU Senate members and academicians will participate in the event to share their joy.

Graduation Reception to be Held for Graduates and Parents

On the other hand, in scope of the 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Semester Graduation Week activities, a Graduation Reception will be held on the same day at 17:00 for the graduates and their parents. During the Graduation Reception, Latino Jazz Quartet music group will take the stage to entertain the guests.

Associate and Undergraduate Students to Receive their Diplomas on January 28th

The Graduation Ceremony for over 1000 graduands of associate and undergraduate programs will be held on January 28th 2019, Monday (14:00) at EMU Lâlâ Mustafa Paşa Sports Complex. The ceremony will commence with a Moment of Silence, the Turkish National Anthem and the students’ speeches. Following the opening address from EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and protocol members, the faculty and department valedictorians will receive their diplomas from protocol members. After all graduate and doctorate students have been presented with their diplomas, the students will toss their caps in the air as a symbol of their graduation. The ceremony will end after Lütfiye Özipek’s (one of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s most beloved singers) performance.

The EMU 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Term Graduation Ceremony will be broadcast live on BRT2, Channel T, Diyalog TV, Channel Sim and EMU TV.
