The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) 2016 entrance and scholarship exam directed towards TRNC citizens and high school graduates took place on Tuesday the 7th of June 2016 between 09:30 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. Citizens of Turkey could also enter the exam if they studied and graduated at a high school located in the TRNC for an uninterrupted period of four years.
According to the information provided by EMU Rector’s Office, 1371 students took part in the 2016 Entrance and Scholarship exam which took place at different locations including EMU campus and the Turkish Maarif College in Nicosia.
Students who received sufficient points for chosen programs apart from the medicine program finished in first position and received full scholarships. Students who finished in second and third position received 50 percent scholarships whilst students who finished in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions received 25 percent uninterrupted and unconditional scholarships.
All students were required to take Mathematics, Science, Turkish and Social Science tests. In addition, students interested in language departments also took an English Language test whilst those interested in departments that require visual skills had to take a Visual Skill Test. Depending on which exam they took, each student’s Mathematics and Science, Turkish and Mathematics, Turkish and Social Science, English Language and Visual Skill points were calculated.
It was announced that students who earned the right to study at EMU can complete their registration any time between now and September by applying at the EMU Registrar’s Office.
