16 Programs of EMU Received FIBAA Accreditation Certificates

Eastern Mediterranean University, which is increasing its recognition at international level through international accreditations, organised a ceremony for FIBAA accreditation certificate presentation. FIBAA director Daisuke Motoki also took part in the ceremony which took place at Rector’s Office Senate Room on 12 June 2014.

During his opening address at the ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak stated that a total of 16 programs in 3 faculties received FIBAA accreditation. Prof. Dr. Öztoprak also gave information about other accreditations gained by different programs within the university and thanked FIBAA Director Motoki for his participation in the ceremony.

In his speech, Motoki extended his congratulations to all programs receiving FIBAA accreditation and expressed his appreciation to EMU for its outstanding achievements in the field of international  accreditation.

Following the opening speeches, Business and Economics Faculty, Tourism Faculty and School of Computing and Technology representatives received FIBAA Accreditation Certificates from Daisuke Motoki. A total of 12 English-medium undergraduate programs of Business and Economics Faculty and Tourism and Hospitality undergraduate program and Tourism Management postgraduate program of Tourism Faculty have been granted FIBAA (The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) accreditation. Additionally, EMU School of Computing and Technology’s Accounting and Taxation Applications and Medical Documentation and Office Management programs successfully passed the accreditation process and have received FIBAA accreditation for a period of 5 years.

During the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Öztoprak also presented plaques of appreciation to former  YÖDAK Chair Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Bıçak, EMU Business and Economics Faculty FIBAA Accreditation Committee Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarık Timur and Political Science and International Relations Department academic staff Assist. Prof. Dr. Altay Nevzat for their contributions.

Prior to the ceremony, Motoki paid a visit to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Öztoprak in his office and received information about EMU’s campus facilities and international collaborations.
