“1000’de 1 Gece Diyalogları” Play Takes Place at EMU

Within the framework of the 23rd Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Spring Festival, the play “1000’de 1 Gece Diyalogları” (One in a thousand Night-time Dialogues) took place at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Hall before a significantly large audience. The play that started being staged by the  Çolpan İlhan & Sadri Alışık Theatre in January is led by famous thespians Begüm Kütük Yaşaroğlu and Hakan Meriçliler.

The play written by Birol Güven and directed by Galip Erdal uses humour to commentate on familiar problems in relationships and marriages as well as the conflict between traditional and modern thought. The comedy with the slogan “Marriage necessitates falling in love with the same person on countless occasions” was watched by EMU students and the Famagusta public with great excitement.

After the play that lasted for approximately two hours Begüm Kütük Yaşaroğlu accepted a plaque of appreciation from EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam on behalf of the cast and crew.
