In the Mediterranean’s jewel island, Cyprus; Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) continues participating in not only local art events but also in international ones as an art-cherishing institution. Cyprus Paper Artists Association, a travelling association to which our local artist İnci Kansu served as the honorary president this year, is to meet art-lovers in Cyprus. This travelling exhibition is contributed by the International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists (IAPMA). This travelling exhibition, “Inspired by Paper”, visiting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the first time in, will be hosted by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU).  

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held on November 30th, 2018, Friday (18:00) at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall. The exhibition will be open for visit on weekdays until December 28th, 2018 during the following hours: 10:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 17:00. The second leg of the exhibition’s journey will take it to Nicosia Atatürk Congress Center on February 4th, 2018 at 18:00. There, it will be open for visitors until February 15th, 2019 on weekdays during working hours.

Since its inception in April 2016, the “Inspired by Paper” exhibition has travelled through Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Israel, Poland and Sweden and received great attention. IAPMA was formed in Düren, Germany (1986) and has been leaded by Nicole Donnelly since 2015. The exhibition supervisor is Helene Tschacher.
