How are the educational activities carried out?

My course is not available online. I can’t reach my instructor. What should I do?

Your courses are currently being delivered online. If you cannot access your course online, we advise you to contact either your advisor or department chair. For courses appearing on your course timetable, you may also contact your course instructors.

What kind of work has been carried out during the corona virus period?

Are there any disinfection activities carried out in our university?

Where is the campus entrance? Entrance to the campus is through the Salamis Gate, where entrance to and exit from the campus takes place under the monitoring of the security unit.

Are there any travel restrictions?

Due to the pandemic, all flights are currently cancelled. However, if your country offers a repatriation flight for you, it is up to you to decide whether to return to your country or not. You should consider this issue on your own.

Should I return to my country?

Please talk to your advisor or department chair and decide, accordingly.

How can I obtain accurate information?

You can follow the web page of our university to receive accurate information. (Follow the current announcements on emu.edu.tr page)

How can I contact my supervisor?

The names and e-mail addresses of all your instructors are available on your faculty’s webpage. You can also obtain the e-mail addresses of your advisors from the same webpage.

What should I do if I have a technical problem?

For technical problems, please send an e-mail to dervis.hasipoglu@emu.edu.tr and state your problem in detail.

How can I contact the accounting office?

For issues to do with financial affairs, please send an e-mail to suleyman.sunal@emu.edu.tr and state your problem in detail.

My family has not paid for my tuition fee instalments yet. Can I sit for the exams? Will the university apply any interest on my outstanding debt?

You may sit for your exams and the Rector’s Office will not apply any interest on overdue tuition fee instalment payments during the 2019-20 Spring Semester.

Do I have to pay a fee for freezing registration during this period when Corona Virus measures are taken?

In accordance with our regulations, a fee for freezing registration is charged, with a consideration of the week of application for freezing registration from the starting date of the courses.

Are we going to continue to pay the tuition fee instalments?

Yes. You are expected to pay your tuition fee instalments.

Will there be any discounts on the tution fees?

No. As the education is being offered in a different environment, there will be no discounts in our tuition fees.

How can I obtain information on undergraduate and postgraduate issues?

How is the master’s and PhD thesis defense going to be held?

In line with the course of measures pertaining to corona virus, the method of carrying out thesis defense will be clear in May, 2020.

Can the PhD Qualifying Exam be administered online?

The Higher Education Council (YÖK ) has stated that the PhD Qualifying Exam can be held online.

Can I withdraw from courses and can I freeze my registration?

Please contact your advisor for issues regarding course withdrawal and freezing registration.

How will the exam and course participation be dealt with?

Decisions have been taken by your faculty council on exam and course participation. You can contact your advisor / department chair for further information on this subject. Also, follow the current announcements on our university’s webpage.

Are the exams going to be held online?

The method of exam administration will be clearer in May 2020.

What are the decisions taken on academic issues (exams etc...)?

You can access the updated academic calendar at emu.edu.tr . For possible further decisions, please follow the announcement section of our university’s webpage.

I registered for EMU in March period. I don’t have any information who my advisor is and how I can take courses. Who should I contact?

How can I freeze my registration and what is the maximum period of freezing registration?

There is no restriction on this issue in the rules and regulations of our university. However, you can contact your advisor without taking a decision on freezing your registration.

Is there any financial obligation regarding freezing registration in our university?

How can I benefit from the internet support package?

I have applied for the internet support package but I have not received a response yet. What should I do?

Do academic meetings, social, cultural and other campus events continue?

Academic meetings are being held online. All social, cultural and other campus activities planned for this semester have been cancelled.

I have just arrived in EMU. Is there a community of students from my country in EMU? If yes, how can I contact them?

Are the services of dormitories, dining halls, library, transportation, cafeterias and other campus facilities still offered?

Our university’s dormitories continue to offer services. Table D’hote restaurant offers free lunch services to all students who reside in on-campus EMU dormitories and alternate lunch services to those who are currently staying in private dormitories. Some of the cafeterias on the campus are currently serving.

How can I benefit from the Table D’hote restaurant?

Students wishing to benefit from the services of the Table D’hote restaurant are advised to contact the dormitory superintendents.

I need food support. For how long can I benefit from the food support?

Students in need of food support should apply via their student portals.

I did not pick up the food support on its delivery date. Can I get it if I go now?

Yes, you can.

Yes, students of EMU can benefit from the services of the state hospital free of charge.

Who can I contact regarding the legal issues I have encountered with the landlords or dormitory administration?

  • Although the term of my contract still in effect, I am not currently staying in the dormitory. Should I continue to pay for my dormitory fee installments? You can follow the decisions on EMU dormitories at the web page of our university. We advise you to contact the private dormitory administration for issues regarding private dormitories within the campus.

I am now back in my country but I left my personal belongings in my dorm room. What will happen to my belongings if travel restrictions do not disappear within a short time?
