Health Center Working Principles

Aim:

i) to protect the physical and mental health of students and academic staff, to treat patients and especially contribute students in taking care of their mental and physical health as conscious individuals, to provide emergency and outpatient treatment services in order to reach the aims mentioned above.

ii) to conduct health education activities such as banners, posters, conferences, seminars, etc. to protect the health of students and staff, to carry out general and special medical check-up.


Coverage:

EMU, EMC, EMP, Preschool and Kindergarten students, University academic staff, Administrative Services Staff, Workers and their spouses and children can benefit from the Health Center.

Method of Application:

People mentioned above can benefit from the Health Center by presenting a document proving their identity. Applications without identity are not accepted except for the state of emergency.

Working Principles:

i) The working hours of the Health Center are similar to that of the University. Additional modifications can be made with the suggestion of health Center Responsible Unit and approval of the Rectorate in case of necessity.

ii) Clinic and Lab work days and hours can be increased and reduced upon the suggestion of the Health Center Responsible Unit and approval of the Rectorate in case of necessity.

Note: Working hours are form 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in winter time. Summer time schedule of the University is also valid for the Health Center.


Health Reports :

 i) Health reports can be given to students and staff by Health Center doctors in case of necessity.

ii) Health reports taken from anywhere else but EMU Health Center must be approved and registered by the Health Center for 3 days the latest inland and 10 days the latest overseas starting from the report completion date.

iii) It is obligatory that the reports prescribing long-term resting be approved by Health Center Responsible Unit.


Services not Offered by the Health center:

When needed Health Center responsible doctor refers the EMU staff and students to the poly-clinics under the Ministry of Health and Welfare for medical services that cannot be offered at Health Center. Students who pay insurance premiums can benefit from the consultation and examination (lab, x-rays) services in all poly-clinics of hospitals under the Ministry of Health and Welfare free of charge. However, advanced imaging (MRI and CT), drugs and other apparatus required for treatment will be paid by students.
