Solution from EMU Student Services Office for Food Problem.

Eastern Mediterranean University EMU Student Affairs Vice-Rector and Financial and Technical Affairs Vice-Rector have started working on a solution to supply university student with better quality and cheaper food. EMU has started to construct two cafeterias which will serve table d’hôte (a complete meal offered at a fixed price) menu, both in the North Campus and in the South Campus and also planning to complete these cafeterias in November.

         In addition to 51 enterprises which aim to give food service in EMU campus, there will be another cafeteria which will be located in the centre of the campus and will serve 500 people table d’hôte service. The work to put this cafeteria into service is in progress.
 

 

         The work which has been carried out by Student Affairs Vice-Rector, Assist. Prof. Dr.  Şamil Erdoğan and Financial and Technical Affairs Vice-Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Dağbaşı with the order given by the rector, Prof. Dr. Halil Güven, has been coming to an end. The cafeterias are constructed of 250 meter square interior area and 50 meter square terrace. The two cafeterias will be run by Tower Restaurant which is under control of EMU School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Lunch and dinner which will be prepared with a high quality and health care of Tower Restaurant will be served to EMU students.



         EMU students will meet two more cafeterias which will serve table d’hôte menu in addition to the Central Cafeteria which was put into service in October. Students will be able to eat cheap, quality and hygienic food with the existence of these cafeterias. EMU administration proposed their aim as to provide students with new services they need with the slogan of “Aiming for the Peak of Quality”.

         Assist. Prof. Dr. Şamil Erdoğan, EMU Student Affairs Vice-Rector, declared that they founded Student Services Office in order to solve students’ problems they face throughout their studies and provide them with comprehensive service. Therefore, this has proven that EMU has a student focused perspective. Vice-Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Dağbaşı has also stated that he will carry on all these works in order to provide students with a high quality service.
