First Circular

Dear Colleague,
The XIth ICTL will be held between 7-9 August 2002, at EMU, in the Turkish
Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Three types of presentations will be given at the conference:
Individual Papers
Papers are accepted from individuals and/or co-authors; A 20 minute
time allotment will be given per presentation followed by a 10-minute
discussion.
Workshops
The purpose of the workshop is to discuss specific topics in depth
and in detail. The length of the workshop discussion will be between one
to two hours. The workshop organizer will select the topic and the participants
for the workshop.
Poster
Presentations
Poster presentations aim at providing an opportunity to discuss an
ongoing research project. They will take place at the time and location
designated by the organizing committee. Computer and other technological
devices can be used for presentations.
The deadline for abstracts is January 25th 2002. Each participant can submit up to two abstracts; one individual and one co-authored. The workshop organizer should send a general abstract regarding the theme of the workshop in addition to the abstracts from each participant. The abstract should consist of the topic, the research methodology and a relevant bibliography. The abstract should not exceed one page (A4 size) including examples and bibliography. The font type must be "New Roman 10" type size and the margins should be as follows: 2.5 cm. right and left margins and 4.5 cm. top and bottom margins. Six copies of the abstract should be provided; five anonymous and one with the author's name. Regarding the anonymous abstracts, please take care not to disclose the identity of the participants.
Evaluation of the abstracts
A selection committee will evaluate all abstracts. The names of the committee members will be confidential and the abstracts, which are anonymous, will be given to the committee for evaluation.
Participation
Please complete the enclosed registration form. It is possible to register and submit a proposal on-line, by fax or mail. All conference details regarding information about travel, accommodation as well as social activities, will be made available on the conference website at www.emu.edu.tr/ictl2002 . Please visit the website in order to keep updated with the conference details.
To register with the conference, fill out the (electronic) registration form and deposit the registration fee into one of the bank accounts listed below. The receipt should be forwarded to the fax number below. The registration fee covers the expenses for participation, the opening dinner, lunch for three days and the conference booklet.
The fee is $75 USD paid before May 17th 2002 and $100
USD or its TL equivalent after this date.
