Due to the 95^th anniversary of Çanakkale Victory, Eastern Mediterranean University Atatürk Research Center is organizing a ceremony in commemoration of those who died in Çanakkale. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Cicioğlu, director of the Atatürk Research Center, announced that the ceremony will take place on March 18, 2010, Thursday at 10.30 in Mehmet Tahiroğlu Hall (Blue Hall). The ceremony will start with a minute of silence followed by the Turkish National Anthem. A panel discussion during which several panelists will come together to deliver speeches on various topics will be held. The panel will feature the following panelists and their topics:

1.     Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Cicioğlu, director of the Ataturk Research Center

‘The importance of Çanakkale Victory in Turkish history’ 

2.      Assoc. Prof. Dr. Turgut Turhan, member of Faculty of Law

‘The Turkish Air force during the Çanakkale War’ 

3.      Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Huyugüzel

‘Reflections of the Çanakkale Victory on Turkish Literature’ 

4.      Murat Güney, head of the Atatürk Ideology Club

‘Turkish Youth in Çanakkale’ 

The panel will end with the documentary ‘Çanakkale Geçilmez’.
