In an earlier press announcement, it was stated that the Eastern Mediterranean Primary School and the Nursery would be closed until November 23, 2009 due to measures taken to combat swine influenza. However, later, in accordance with the decision taken by the TRNC National Education, Youth and Sports Ministry and the Ministry of Health, it was announced that all primary and secondary schools will be closed until December 1, 2009.

As the Eastern Mediterranean Primary School has to conform to this decision, the EMU Primary School will be closed until 1 December, 2009.

The Eastern Mediterranean Nursery will be open starting from Monday November 23, 2009.
