EMU Faculty of Business and Economics International Award.

The best 1000 Business Schools around the world were determined by the Eduniversal Scientific Committee based in France, considering the international reputation of universities, program quality, publications of faculty members, nationally and internationally accreditations, assessments made by independent institutions and the memberships to international associations.  From the 1000 universities, 54 deans suggested the Faculty of Business and Economics at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) as a recommended business school.

As a result of the assessments made by Eduniversal, the EMU Faculty of Business and Economics was ranked 7th among the Turkish universities, and the Faculty was awarded a double palm prize.

Assoc. Dr. Cem TANOVA said that EMU Faculty of Business and Economics is a member of AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) which is the oldest institution for business accreditations, and is also a member of EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).  He also emphasized that the faculty’s Political Science and International Relations Departments are members of the ECPR (European Consortium for Management Development) and ISA (International Studies Association).  Assoc. Dr. TANOVA said that this is the second time that the faculty was awarded with two palm prizes, which is considered very valuable and important.

 

New Programs at EMU Business and Economics Faculty:
 

Assoc. Dr. TANOVA stated that with globalization, technological development and increasing competitive environment, new expertise areas have emerged and brought the need for the formation of the new programs within the department.  He also provided information about these new programs.

He further added that as a part of the EMU Faculty of Business and Economics, School of Applied Sciences has been formed and students have been accepted to four-year programs of International Trade and Business, Management Information Systems, Marketing Management and Human Resource Management.

Assoc. Dr. TANOVA said that "As expected, our students have shown interest to these programs because like today, in the future employment demand in this area will continue to increase.  He added that the main goal is to educate individuals so that they can communicate effectively, specialize in their fields, and use technology as needed.  He said that the instructors have degrees from top universities in Turkey and around the world, and have shown their dedication to do research and provide service to the community as well as providing high quality education to our students.  He further commented that they are proud of the publications of their colleagues in the highly respected academic journals.
