Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) will host the 7th international symposium of Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Folklore. The symposium will commence on the 1st and end on the 3rd of December 2011 and will be organized by the aforementioned institute in association with the Faculty of Education. EMU Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish Language Teaching Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Vügar Sultanzade stated that they are very proud to be hosting the first international symposium that will be held outside of Azerbaijan under EMU’s roof.
Assoc. Prof. Vügar Sultanzade also stated that the purpose of the symposium is to reintroduce and present historic Turkish culture to its people and to convey the importance of the impact of Turkish Tales in Turkish culture. “Tales That Convey the Culture and Values of the Turkish People” “Language Characteristics of Turkish Tales” “The Impact of Turkish Tales on Neighboring Cultures” “The Impact of Turkish Tales in Written Literature” “Turkish Language and the Turkish Culture” Besides a number of Professors that are attending the symposium from North Cyprus and Azerbaijan, over 50 scientists will be participating from around Turkey, Dagestan, and Crimea. The opening of the symposium will be on Thursday, December 1, 2011, 9.30AM at EMU Mehmet Tahiroğlu Hall (Blue Hall).
