Department Mission
With the contribution of new communication technologies, today, radio, television and film have all converged to an unprecedented degree.
Nowadays, sound, vision, and script can easily be added to each other in the same medium. The same news can be ready to be used in different channels with few changes. We are living in the medium of a diverse and overlapping global media environment, whose area of influence is extended. This raises our expectations from the communication professionals both in terms of their technical skills and their social responsibility. With this in mind, the Department of Radio Television and Film at Eastern Mediterranean University aims to graduate students who will not only be able to skillfully use up-to-date media technologies, but will also have the intellectual and critical perspective to specify the content to be communicated through the use of these technologies. Therefore, we are planning to have socially and ethically responsible graduates, who are knowledgeable and who can carefully use the technologies of their field.
