Mission  

Each candidate to the Undergraduate Music Teacher Education Program is chosen after an audition and interview whereby the candidate is tested for the presence of a musical ear and level of instrumental ability, in short, to determine whether s/he possesses the abilities and talents a music teacher is expected to have. The education given will train the candidates as music teachers equipped with all the global norms, and also expose them to a music education based on theoretical grounds. The aim is to produce creative and cultured music teachers with a distinct personality who can judge scientifically, and who have fully grasped the global music culture. The courses will incorporate all the recent technologies and knowledge into curriculum materials, thus the graduates will be aware of the ways of gaining access to information, and will know how to utilize technology in a classroom environment. The language of instruction in the Music Education Program is English.  

Undergraduate Program 

The Undergraduate Music Teacher Education Program will start offering the bachelor degree courses as of the 2006-2007 academic year. The staff, consisting of qualified music artists, aims to train the students as music teachers who can teach at all educational institutions ranging from K1 to 12.  The academic program is accredited by the Council of Higher Education in the Turkish Republic. The education given in the department will be enriched by national and international academic activities and through the implementation of modern technological devices. The graduates will find jobs not only as music teachers in elementary and secondary education but in areas of interest in line with their skills and talents which they have developed during their education.
