Within the overall vision of the University, the Center for Cyprus Studies aims to add value to the Cyprus-related researches, both inside and outside the country. To this end, the Center seeks to become the biggest research center in the region with its full time academic team engaged in scholarly research on the cultural history and political problems of Cyprus.
The mission of the Center of Cyprus Studies is to support research projects in a broad spectrum of fields ranging from archeology, anthropology and economics to history, linguistics and folklore, aiming at the development and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the island, and to disseminate this knowledge in publications.
To realize its mission and vision, the Center for Cyprus Studies is trying to achieve the following goals and objectives: to increase quality standards at all levels; to attract quality research projects and papers; to form local and international alliances with appropriate institutions/associations/units so as to capitalize on the opportunities and synergies; to increase public awareness about the work of the Center; and to establish archives and collections.
