OClosely following the national standards and rules, our University sees international accreditation and supervision as a foundation for development. Eastern Mediterranean University possesses full membership of various prominent organisations such as the International Association of Universities, the European University Association, Community of Mediterranean Universities and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World.  It is also worth mentioning that, along with METU, Bilkent, Istanbul Technical University and Bosphorus University in Turkey, Eastern Mediterranean University is the only university in TRNC gaining the most prestigious accreditation in the field of engineering, ABET accreditation. Our University’s Business and Economics Faculty is a full member of EFMD and AACSB, which have granted full membership only for three universities in Turkey. EMU School of Tourism and Hospitality Management has gained the accreditation of TEDQUAL, the only organisation throughout the world granting accreditation in this field. EMU has the pride of being the only university throughout TRNC and Turkey holding TEDQUAL accreditation. The Computer Technologies and Information Systems offered by School of Computing and Technology (SCT) has successfully passed the International European Accreditation process and been granted ASIIN and Euro Label Accreditation, making our University the first one possessing this type of accreditation throughout the region. In 2011, Eastern Mediterranean University was ranked among the best 2,000 universities in Webometrics Rankings of World Universities, which included 20,000 universities in their evaluation. In addition to Webometrics Rankings, Eastern Mediterranean University has been ranked as the 1695th university by Middle East Technical University in the University Rankings by Academic Performance (URAP). Numerous cultural and scientific studies carried out by the academics of Eastern Mediterranean University are used as resources in many countries laying the groundwork for collaborations and guiding our students. Integrated with the city, Eastern Mediterranean University constitutes one of the best examples of the 21st century speed and dynamism within its modern campus. With the opening of the region’s largest and the most extensive Cultural and Congress Center in 2012, our University will become one of the most important centers in terms of social and cultural activities.  Eastern Mediterranean University campus houses 18 tennis courts, turf football fields, basketball courts, skateboard areas, a stadium with tartan track, and a closed sports center  seating up to 3,000 people and various sports areas, all providing students the facilities to do any kinds of sport they wish. There is a fully-equipped Health Center on our campus which provides free service to our students. In addition, there are countless cafés, restaurants, dormitories and dining halls fulfilling students’ basic needs. Conference halls, modern classrooms, activity clubs and centers that help develop our students in many ways, radio and TV channels of the university, and laboratories equipped with the latest technologies make student life very attractive. Our university believes in science for people and offers 74 Bachelor’s degrees, 57 Master’s degrees and Doctorate degree programmes in 9 faculties, 2 institutes and 4 schools.
