Full – Time Academic Staff Position in Interior Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture – Faculty of Architecture.

Job Description

The Department of Interior Architecture is looking to appoint a creative, self motivated instructor to primarily contribute to our undergraduate program. This faculty member will be required to teach undergraduate studios and lectures in Interior Architecture with emphasis on color and lighting , materials, construction, structures; conduct researchs and/or engaged in creative activities releated to Interior Architecture; participate in curriculum development; advise undergraduate students; and participate in other academic services at the Department, Faculty and University level.

The primary responsibilities for this position should fulfill the following features:

  • Recent experience in Interior Architecture subject areas

  • Specific expertise within the Interior Architecture profession

  • Proficiency in the use of technology in instruction

  • Ability to effectively teach to a diverse student population with varied skills and ability levels

Ability to effectively work with others and contribute as a team member

Qualifications

Senior Instructor : For this position , the person should possess a master degree, or its equivalent, scholar, or professional in the field of design (interior architecture, architecture, industrial design etc.)

Assistant Professor : For this position , the person should possess doctoral degree, or its equivalent, and must have demonstrated ability as an instructor, scholar, or professional in the field of design (interior architecture, architecture, industrial design etc.)

Term of Employment

EMU offers a competitive salary. The initial appointment is for eleven months starting September 15, 2008, renewable for two years, contingent upon successful performance.
