Full – Time  Academic Position in Advertising Theory and Practice, Department of Public Relations and Advertising – Faculty of Communication and Media Studies

Job Description

The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, scholarly research and publications, serving on departmental board meetings, appropriate departmental and university committees, and advising students.

Qualifications

All applicants should have potential for excellence in teaching and research. A high command of English Language is essential. Applicants should have experience in teaching advertising theory and practice courses and other related topics. Those who in addition have had relevant work experience will have additional advantage. It is crucial that candidates have a demonstrable interest in the theoretical and critical issues surrounding their areas of interest . Applicants for appointment as Assistant Professor should have completed a Ph.D. degree in Advertising or Marketing Communication /Business Communication fields, and should have published research in indexed journals. Applicants for Associate Professor and full Professor positions must demonstrate a strong academic and scholarly record of teaching and publications, and should have a proven track record of ability to mentor junior faculty.

Term of Employment

EMU offers a competitive salary. The initial appointment is for eleven months starting September 15, 2008 renewable for two years, contingent upon successful performance.
